Our Origins

A LAND SHAPED LIKE A BUNCH OF GRAPES

The land where Bonasoda originates is called “Oltrepò Pavese” (Oltrepò). The Oltrepò is in the southern part of Lombardy, the most productive region in Italy. Oltrepò literally means “on the other side of the Po”. The Po River runs through a large plain in the North of Italy, the Pianura Padana, where risotto rice is produced. South of the Po River the land quickly gains height, and this is where the Oltrepò begins, at the foothills of the Ligurian Alps and Apennines, in the province of Pavia.

Bonasoda comes from all this miracle of nature. Oltrepò is shaped like a bunch of grapes. With its rolling hills and incredible landscapes, its mission is to make wine. While we are in Oltrepò, all our five senses are immersed in wine.

Our eyes see endless vineyards, our nose smells the scent of grape mash, our ears hear the sound of the many small tractors in the vineyard lines, our tongue tastes the tannin in the air, and our skin feels the warmth of the harvest.

Its 13,550 hectares of vineyards land, running along the 45th parallel, make this area one of the major wine-growing lands in the world.

Our Strength

THE NATURAL
PRODUCTION

Bonasoda counts on a like-minded value network based within the Oltrepò territory, whose wines can claim the Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin, our warranty DOCG mark. Therefore, the quality and reputation of our Bonasoda ingredients are indissolubly linked to this Italian area, where they are produced, processed, and prepared.

Our qualified partners make the blend of wine as it has been around for thousands of years. We know that Mother Nature provides everything that is needed to make our wine, so we and our partners are together to respect and improve what nature has provided.

We follow eight basic stages to making Bonasoda:

HARVESTING

our hand-made partners’ operation takes place within Oltrepò vineyards at the best time

CRUSHING AND PRESSING

by using high-quality mechanical pressing we reduce the need for preservatives

FERMENTATION

in our very clean, well-established partners’ wineries we welcome a natural fermentation

CLARIFICATION

our filtering and fining partners’ process comes by using sterile filter pad and adding natural compounds

AGING

within our partners’ stainless steel or ceramic tanks we accommodate the right time to reach our standards

MIXING

with a select natural mineral water, a specifically chosen Soda, which is mixed to perfection

QUALITY CONTROL

our winemakers test Bonasoda in accordance to our recipe and the taste standards that our customers enjoy

CANNING

we outsource this operation to qualified suppliers
